" Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. "

Mark 16:15

At First Baptist Church Herculaneum – Pevely, we have committed ourselves to share the Gospel, starting with our local communities, and extending further; sharing with others that Jesus is King!

To the members and friends of First Baptist Church,

I am sure you have heard that the Governor has announced he is lifting the stay-at-home order effective Monday, May 4, 2020. He has asked that businesses, churches, etc. abide by the social-distancing guideline of staying apart at least six feet. We will have one final parking lot worship service this Sunday, May 3, 2020. Then, we will begin having worship services in our building on Sunday, May 10, 2020 with the following guidelines.

We will offer two identical worship services each Sunday, until further notice.

1st Service- 9:15 am – We ask for those with last names beginning with the letters A – M to attend.

2nd Service – 10:30 am We ask for those with last names beginning with the letters N – Z to attend.

Any families or friends who are used to worshiping together, we encourage you to continue that practice, even if according to your last names you are asked to attend worship at different times. I believe it is important maintain and get back to some sense of normalcy, although the new normal will be different at first.

There will be no nursery, children’s worship or bus pick up available.

It will be at your discretion whether or not to wear a mask/gloves when attending. It is required of those who choose not to wear gloves to have the greeter dispense hand sanitizer in your hands before entering the building. The greeter will be wearing a mask and gloves for both your protection and theirs.

Everyone will be asked to enter through the door closest to Abbey Lane, which also has a “Welcome” banner above the door. That is where the greeter with hand sanitizer will be stationed. We are asking everyone to exit the building through the opposite door, which is the door closest to the garage. Those attending the 10:30 am service will not be allowed into the building until we can sanitize chairs in auditorium after first service leaves. I would suggest you remain in your cars until the all clear signal is given.

Every other row in the auditorium will be closed off to allow for safe distancing. Families will be allowed to sit together. We are asking for you to allow 3 empty seats between you and the other families or people sitting next to you in the same row.

There will be no “meet and greet” time, shaking hands or hugging permitted.

Ushers will be holding offering plates at exits to drop off tithes and offerings.

We also have online giving/texting options available. Please visit our website at www.fbchp.com and click on the giving tab further details.

Since our first Sunday back worshipping together is Mother’s Day, we will have a special gift for each mother, which will be handed out as you exit the building. The person(s) handing out these gifts will be wearing masks/gloves.

There will be no public invitation given during the worship services at this time.

For those, who feel it is absolutely necessary to use the bathroom during the worship service, we ask that before exiting the bathroom to thoroughly wash your hands with the soap provided for at least 20 seconds with warm water.

We will continue to stream our worship services live on our church’s Facebook page.

If you and/or your family are in need of anything, please contact us so we can help meet that need.
